A friend of mine had a baby last week. A cute little daughter. They named her Zara. Apparently my friend overheard his father say "I hope she is cute, otherwise she will get teased in school" due to the name.
I know this man personally, and he really is a great guy which is why I think this is so troubling for my friend.
Is Zara such an odd named that the girl will get teased once she reaches school age? I think it is a pretty cool name, and tried to reassure him that his dad must have had a lapse of judgment.
